I Smell Gas when I use my BBQ
This condition could be caused by a number of reasons. The best test for
a leaky hose is a mixture of soap and water. Make sure the BBQ is shut
down, but leave the Natural Gas or Propane tank on. Apply the soap sud
mixture to all of the connections on your BBQ. If the the soap bubbles
at the connections, you have a leak!
Check the condition of your burner, a defective or worn out burner will
not burn properly causing a gas like smell. If this is the case,
original replacement burners for nearly every make of BBQ are available
for a reasonable price.
The orifice on the end of your brass valve may be plugged. To check the
condition of your orifice, remove the burner from the BBQ, disconnect
the hoses from the valves (make sure your gas is off) and then remove
the valves. At the tip of the BBQ valves there should be two tiny holes.
If they are clogged in any way, they need to be cleaned.
